Project Status (February 2, 2002)

UPDATE on the visiting staff quarters.

We are getting there on the building.  It is now in use.  The "to do" list is getting smaller and smaller and we just have a few things left.  Screen doors on the rooms, computer keyboard tray and skylights, might actually totally
finish this coming week?  Wow!

THANK YOU for all you have done for us to get to this stage!  Please make sure and thank ALL the folk at Fullerton for their help, we have appreciated them.

New Pictures

Project Status (January 19, 2002)

UPDATE on the visiting staff quarters.

The main front door is on and it looks great. (Thanks to those who made the beautiful doors) The cabinet doors that we have been working on are now on.  These doors are very impressive looking, solid wood raised panel (cathedral design) doors on all the common room cabinets.  These are heavy duty beautiful doors and should last years and years! (Thanks so much for bringing down the mortiser and planner which has really aided in having such quality doors) The drawers are done and installed on the kitchen sink cabinet.  We have started on the couches and as can imagine these are also solid wood frames.  We are doing a little fancy design and that takes a little longer but will look great and we hope will also feel great to sit in.  We will send picture of the couches when we are all done as well.  The hospital is planning on starting to use it 1st Feb even if we still have a few bits and pieces to do so that's how close we are getting, EXCITING!.  I will go around and take final pictures for you all when we hand over the keys.

What's still left to do?

Make a kitchen table and finish the chairs we started.

This project has gone well and the end result of all the hard work that everyone has put into it is one really nice building.  A big thank you to all who have worked on it and to those who have prayed.

100% done shower doors, mirrors & wood frames, (just need wood frame around lav countertop)

90% done on bunk beds and double beds. Just need bunk bed ladders made and installed and a finish coat of varnish

85% done on plumbing finish (all stools installed and shower trim on, just some lavs and kitchen sink to install)

75% done on curtains (all room vertical blinds installed waiting for valance heights to be determined by ladies)

Cabinets are all made and installed except broom closet which moved location to between computer desk and social bathroom

final touch ups, clean up, wash windows and cabinets, final wax coat on floors etc.

ALEX: I am estimating late January before we are totally done with the project (We appear to be keeping to budget which is really great).  Another praise point is that we have made excellent progress and the standard of work being done has continued at a very high level. I think that anyone who has worked on the project can look at it and be proud of the quality of the job.
